MONDAY:

As planned last friday, Mei ann and I arrived pretty early (lagi naman kami talaga maaga.. mas maaga lang sa usual ngayon). Bill, the OCS Technical Director, was arriving today and we hoped to impress him. We arrived a few minutes before he did. His cheery look gave me a big sigh of relief. I imagined him stern and serious. But he was the total opposite. We exchanged greetings and casually shared information about ourselves. Though it was brief, I could tell that he was a great boss. First Impression of Bill: Not very strict. Conversations that people here have with him are very light and he even has a good word for everyone.

My task coding (in VB) the excel log just keeps on adding up. Whenever i report to sir Al that im done with it, additional specs are given. At least im learning more.

As I was about to finish what was added to my tasks, Bill invited us for coffee… Which turned out to be the tech team’s informal meeting. As I have learned, it was tradition for them to hold their meetings in Starbucks. Bill most often took care of the bill. It was mostly project updates and issues + kwentuhan. I got to understand better the work that the Technical Team handle and it was really fun being able to be there and just listen and laugh. We had our turn sharing what we were doing behind  our desks and Bill thought of other things we could do. Then Bill had his turn sharing the things he did while he was out of the local office.

The meeting lasted for 2 hours. Having arrived, i finally finished my excel job. I had it checked.. and was given more… ohwell.. This time though, I was given something more difficult. I still have to think about how I would go about mailing worksheets.

We left the office a few minutes after six.
