It’s Going to be a Bumpy Ride!

April 21-23, 2008

Have you ever experienced having to do something but you don’t really know how to start, when to stop, and if you’re doing the right thing? Well that’s my case this week.

My day started when they gave us Case Study 3 which is due by Friday. But I was only able to concentrate after we had our presentation of Case Study 2 which was in the afternoon. The case study covers topics that are totally new to me. We have to remodel our application from Case Study 2 into MVC pattern, and also we have to create a Web Service for one of the functionalities of the system.

I spent the rest of my Monday afternoon researching and studying MVC. I was hoping that by Tuesday, when I arrived, I could start immediately but…..

But! But! But….

I was only able to officially start remodeling on Tuesday afternoon, because during that morning, my OJTmates and I discussed and consulted with Sir Gerry (Team Lead). We are confused with MVC and we can’t seem to absorb the concept totally. Well, I think we read too much from the Internet that’s why we just got more confused. <haha>

Finally, I was able to finish remodeling by Wednesday. But all throughout I was constantly consulting with Sir Paski (Mentor), again, just to make sure that I’m doing the right thing. If last week was coding, coding, coding, this time it’s coding-stop, coding-stop, coding-stop. I decided to implement MVC on the console version that I finished because for me, Swing might take a long time. I was worried that I might not be able to accomplish everything by Friday.

P.S. And again, THANK YOU to those whom I consulted about MVC, especially to our Mentors and Team Leads na kinulet namin. Haha ^_^

Oh, and by the way, during the presentation of Case Study 2…

Sir Gerry (Team Lead): The solution of Ce-cille…

Sir Jason (Team Lead): Cecille..hindi Ce-cille…

Sir Gerry: Ce-cille…

Sir Jason: Cecille…

Me: Uhm, Ce-cille po!

Sir Gerry: O, see…Ce-cille daw…

On my mind, I was already rooting to tell them to just call me Cez, but I hesitated because they are already used to calling me by my first name. <haha>
