April 14-16, 2008
Our presentation for Case Study 1 was moved to Tuesday, so I spent my Monday morning savoring the moment of having to do nothing. <haha> But, I can’t stand the long hours of just browsing the net, so I decided to study on JDBC. Connecting to the database is similar to GWT <well, GWT is Java…> only that the driver is different since I’m now connecting to Oracle. And, hooray, by lunch I was already able to connect to the database!
By Monday afternoon, they gave us Case Study 2 which is again due by Friday. We have to create a standalone Java application for the system specified in Case Study 1. I was glad that I studied JDBC that morning because I was able to start the case study immediately. <*evil smile*>
So, for the next days I was coding, and coding, and coding, except for the time when we presented Case Study 1. I consulted with Sir Paski (Mentor) several times to make sure that I’m on the right track because the instructions were quite confusing. <hehe> I was able to finish the console version of the application (image below) by Wednesday. <*big big smile*>
