I may have exaggerated that title a little bit.
Anyways, the tech team is and will be having a seminar at the intercontinental for the entire week. It was quite odd not having them around…there was less talk around the office. Im not quite used to it, but maybe being left to ourselves have some benefits as well.
Yesterday (Monday) was pretty unusual.. I arrived right BEFORE 8:30, forgot my access card to the office, left my allowance (huhuhu.. but i had almost barely enough for me to last for the day), had to compete with the makati employees for a bus ride (because the MMDA there do not know how to do their job right...) and arrived to find out there was no internet! Funny, I thought I missed a note or something. It was awkward coming in the room without Mei sitting at her desk. I thought maybe I dreamt being told that the slots at the InterCon were already full hence, we couldn’t come. But, I just arrived earlier. Ask her what happened at the LRT station.. tsk tsk! There should be like a power generator at the stations or something so as not to burden gazillions of people when power failure arise. But that is beside the point of this blog…
Later in the day, i found out most of us arrived a little later than our usual time in at the office.
I was still really tired and sleepy. I could not concentrate on the work i had to do. So i asked Mei Ann to join me in the pantry to make some coffee… Well, I only learned to drink coffee here at the office. Keeps me warm in this sometimes ice land.. doesn’t really keep me awake, though. I let my mind rest and wander for awhile. I could not yet settle doing the excel sheets… so i opened VB6 instead and checked on some stuff. Searched whether file access permissions (remember CS140? the ‘chmod’ shell command, only its a bit different in Windows) could be done using VB6 - and found out it could.. but i still cannot reply a ‘Y’ to the console.
So basically (after all i have said.. the main highlight of the day is.. ) I concentrated on the Serial No. Generator after giving up on the excel stuff having found out that i lost some code somewhere.. Probably may have deleted it unknowingly. But I WILL DO IT.
